In-Depth Analysis of Leg Deformity (Bowleg) 2 on The Cause The bowlegs can be caused by certain illnesses or without any special cause. There are varieties of diseases such as Blount disease, Rickets, etc. that cause bowlegs but since it’s rare cases that I won’t go over it here. The most common cause of bowlegs is ’case with no special cause’ It means that there is no ‘disease’. If we were to analyze the alignment of leg, of course there is a problem. The ‘problem’ that cause leg deformity can be the angular deformation which the angle of bone is bent and there may be rotational deformity. Also, it may just appear to be bent without any bone deformity due to the distribution of muscles. Now, why does this happen? Instead of saying that deformity has formed and occurred, it’s more accurate to say that the deformity has not been corrected as one grows up.
